5. Roll out the second cake layer and place it on top of the cherry mix. Remove excess pastry from the edges and pinch the edges of the cake with a fork or fingers.


6. Make several cuts on the surface of the pie crust with a sharp knife to let the steam escape.


7. Coat the surface of the cake with milk and sprinkle with sugar. 8. Bake the pie for 50-60 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.


9. Let the cake cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing and serving.
